Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Planning and Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar Wednesday said the government is scrapping all the remaining COVID-related restrictions across country.

On his official twitter handle, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) chief said, “It was decided in the NCOC meeting today to lift all restrictions except the vaccination restrictions”.

The federal minister, then, urged all the un-vaccinated citizens to get fully jabbed so that they can avoid all restrictions.

“We will continue to monitor disease pattern closely and take action if needed,” he added.

In the meantime, Pakistan is witnessing a significant drop in the daily coronavirus death count for the few days after over a month hike, the health department’s data showed Wednesday morning.

Earlier, the country imposed new restrictions to curb the fast-spreading Omicron variant, hence, the positivity rate now stands at 1.42%.
