'Resignations likey': MQM parts ways with PTI-led govt

Islamabad: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM Pakistan) has decided to end an alliance with the government, with two MQM ministers, Forough Naseem and Aminul Haq, are all set to resign, GNN reported.

The two ministers, who belonged to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), resigned after the party pledged support for the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday.

Leaders from the opposition parties and MQM-P drafted an agreement at the Parliament Lodges after midnight and were expected to address a press conference, which was later postponed until 4pm Wednesday.

MQM-P Senator Faisal Subzwari confirmed, first in a tweet and then in an interaction with reporters, that a draft agreement had been finalized and the details will be announced at a press conference at 4pm Wednesday.

On the other hand, the meeting of Coordinating Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM Pakistan) will be held at Bahadurabad today at 2 pm. The agreement of the united opposition will be presented for ratification.
