Missing Dua Zehra recovered from Lahore; Nikkahfied
She had gone on her own and tied knot with a guy identified as Zaheer Ahmad—a Lahore resident.
Lahore: Dua Zehra Kazmi, 14, went missing outside her home in the Golden Town area of Karachi on April 16 has been recovered from Lahore on Monday (today).
According to police, Dua Zahra was not abducted as she had gone on her own and tied knot with a guy identified as Zaheer Ahmad—a Lahore resident.
The Lahore police have taken the teenager into their custody. The Punjab and Sindh police are in touch and will share more details shortly and would soon share Dua's video statement.
She is reportedly in police custody and the investigation team is making arrangements to send her back in Karachi.
In the meantime, the girl's father said he was unaware of the situation and wasn’t informed by the investigation team of any development in the case.
On the other hand, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah, in a presser ratified that the teenager has been located and the police is working on the other two missing girls as well.
Moreover, as a minor from Sindh her marriage is an offence of Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929 and Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961, according to which at the time of registering a Nikkah a female must be 16 years or above of age and male must be 18 years or above.
The police started a hunt for her on the complaint of her father who appeared in a video.
As per police officials, all possible efforts were being made to locate the girl saying that they are hopeful that the case will be resolved shortly.
Her father elucidated that there was no CCTV footage around, no one is the witness to her fleeing, and there is no evidence yet of any abduction.
