Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan Monday barred ministers and politicians from entering into its premise as the court will hear a petition filed by Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) against the ruling of deputy speaker Punjab Assembly during the election for Punjab Chief Minister.

As per sources privy to the development, only applicants and respondents along their lawyers will be allowed to enter the Supreme Court.

Reports quoting sources added that no minister will be allowed to enter the premises of the apex court.

Previously, it was reported that major political leaders would likely be present in the courtroom during the hearing of the petition against the deputy speaker’s ruling which sparked constitutional debate.

Strict security arrangements are in place in and around the apex court.

Moreover, a police force is stationed outside courtroom number 1, while registered beat reporters from the media are allowed to enter the courtroom.
