Islamabad: PTI leader and former Information Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussian said on Friday that in the next 48 hours, the date of a large rally would be announced in Islamabad to press the coalition government to dissolve the assemblies.

Addressing a press conference in the federal capital, he said the government would be given a deadline to dissolve the assemblies.

"We cannot give the incumbant government more than a month to do that."

Hussian was of the view that the government was not looking serious about dissolving the assemblies and general elections.

The PTI leader further demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), saying no one had faith in the Election Commission as it is acting as party to the PML-N.

"It's not possible to hold general elections under the incumbant CEC. The ECP should respect the court after receiving court notice."

Seeking an explanation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the "drone attack" targeting al qaeda chief Amen al Zawahiri in Afghanistan, he said the nation was expecting clarity whether or not the Pakistani land was used in the attack in Afghanistan.
