Pakistani football exports surge 59pc in first quarter of FY23
Pakistani-made football will be used at soccer world cup in Qatar this year
Islamabad: Football exports jumped by 59.1 percent in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022-23 as compared to the commodity's exports during the corresponding period of last year, the data of the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) showed.
During the period from July-September 2022, footballs worth $59,121 were exported as compared to the exports of $37,159 during the same period of 2021.
The FBS data further says the exports of sports goods increased by 31.18pc, worth $102,178 as compared to exports of $77,892 during the same period of last year.
Accordingt to Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) Senior Vice President Sheikh Zohaib Rafique Sethi, the Al Rihla football, which is produced in Sialkot, would be used in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
