New Year celebration injures 33 people in Karachi

Karachi: On the New Year eve, at least 33 people including women and children sustained the injuries in the aerial firing in different areas of Karachi, reported on Sunday.
The city of lights was echoed with celebratory aerial firing, despite the fact that authorities had warned that violators would be booked under murder charges.
Most of the cases were reported from the areas of Raja Mansion, Liaquatabad No. 4, Garden, Nazimabad Bridge, Hussainabad, Board Office in Nazaimabad, Saddar, Kharadar, Osmanabad Panjwani Plaza, Lighthouse and Chowrangi.
According to a police official, a crackdown was led against the violators and 15 suspects in the city were arrested including two cops and four security guards during the operation.
