Islamabad: Federal Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir Khan Monday said that there is no major power failure in the country, expectedly energy will be completely restored in next 12 hours throughout the country, reportedly.

Talking to a local channel, Khurram Dastgir said that at the time of power generation, each megawatt is monitored to see that how will it affect the power tariff.

Since the demand for electricity is less in winter, most of the systems are turned off at night and turned on again one by one in the morning.

He further informed that today around seven in the morning when the system was being switched on one by one, during this time there was a power breakdown between Jamshoro and Dadu due to lack of frequency.

The federal minister said that the breakdown occurred from north to south and we are slowly restoring the system from south to north, starting from Tarbela and Warsak.

Talking about the interruption in electricity supply in a large part of Karachi, Dastgir said that the issue of Karachi city is a bit complicated, adding that K-Electric also has its own system in Karachi, but is provided 1100 megawatts electricity from National grid which will be restored in a few hours.
