Social media sites opening decision still pending: PTA

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) officials said that no decision has been taken yet to open social media sites.
According to the announcement made by PTA, mobile broadband service has been restored across the country, there has been no instruction regarding banning internet services again.

It is pertinent to note that after the violent protests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers against the arrest of Imran Khan, social media services were suspended across the country.
On the other hand, in a Twitter message today (Monday), former Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the government plans to completely shut down internet services and social media, which are already partially operational.
