Shah Rukh Khan reveals how he bought his dream house 'Mannat'
Shah Rukh Khan reveals how he bought his dream house 'Mannat' despite not having enough money and how it started a new journey for his wife.
Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood, is known for his lavish lifestyle and extravagant properties. However, in a recent media interaction, the superstar opened up about his iconic bungalow, Mannat, and how he initially could not afford it.
Khan revealed that Mannat was his dream house, but it was way beyond his means when he first saw it. As someone from Delhi, he was used to living in bungalows, but in Mumbai, apartments are even more expensive. However, he still managed to buy it somehow, and it has become an integral part of his life.
The actor also shared how his wife, Gauri Khan, kick-started her career as an interior designer with Mannat. He said that when they first bought the bungalow, they did not have enough money to design it, so they called a designer. However, the designer's quote was beyond his salary, so he asked Gauri to design it.
Khan mentioned how the journey started with buying all the small things needed to build a house. It took a while, but they eventually did it. For Gauri, designing the house at such a young age helped her to learn, and for Khan, it is now easier to discuss what they want. He added that they want things to be clean and nice.
The superstar's honesty about his struggle to afford the house is refreshing, and it shows that even the biggest stars face financial constraints. However, it is also a testament to his hard work and perseverance that he was able to achieve his dream of owning Mannat.
Mannat has become a landmark in Mumbai, with fans often gathering outside to catch a glimpse of the superstar.
The bungalow has also been the venue for many grand parties and events, with the likes of Barack Obama and Sachin Tendulkar being among the guests. Apart from Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan also owns a house in Dubai, which is equally impressive. The house is located on Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island in Dubai, and is worth over $2.7 million. Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up to play the lead in Atlee's Jawan. He is also looking forward to collaborating with Rajkumar Hirani for the first time in the upcoming film Dunki.
