Geneva: Minister for National Health Services, Abdul Qadir Patel, has reiterated the Pakistani government's determination to improve health facilities across the country.

During his address at the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Minister Patel emphasized that Pakistan has embarked on the implementation of its essential package of health services this year, with increased investments from the government.

He further stated that the government aims to expand the number of community-based lady health workers from 89,000 to 135,000 within the next five years.

Minister Abdul Qadir Patel highlighted Pakistan's priority focus on implementing international health regulations due to the country's experience with various health emergencies, including the Covid-19 pandemic, polio outbreaks, floods, earthquakes, and heatwaves.
