New York: Torrential rain and flash floods have wreaked havoc in the American state of New York, leaving roads submerged and people trapped inside their homes.

In Rockland County, floodwaters have entered houses and swept away several vehicles, while many areas have been engulfed in the wrath of the floods. The situation in New York is dire, with water everywhere and hundreds of thousands of people deprived of electricity supply.

The intense rainfall experienced in the United States has created a state of emergency in certain parts of New York, leading to flash floods. The National Weather Service issued flood warnings and flood emergencies in Hudson Valley, New York.

Meteorologists have indicated that there is a possibility of further flooding in Southeastern Orange, Western Putnam, Rockland, and Northern Westchester Counties.

Thunderstorms accompanying the rainfall have already impacted these areas, where rainfall of 5 to 8 inches has already been recorded.

Meteorologists warn that as the storm intensifies, there is a fear of destructive flooding in certain parts of New England.
