Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had already said that the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was responsible for the riots on May 9.


Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and Former Prime Minister of Pakistan has been nominated in three more cases in Lahore related to May 9 riots.
According to the sources, the PTI Chief is nominated in three more cases in the light of the investigation from the arrested accused in the May 9 riots.
Three more complaints have been filed against the PTI leader, bringing the total number of terrorism-related cases against the former premier to 19, with 10 of those cases registered in Lahore.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had already said that the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was responsible for the riots on May 9.
He criticized the PTI leader and claimed that his entire family is in London while he has challenged the state over his desire for power. When the May 9 violence happened, the PTI chief sisters were present, and he was getting reports on the happenings, Khawaja Asif continued.
May 9 riots:
Violent clashes broke out across Pakistan after the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief was arrested at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9.
The protests were held in remote and major cities of Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad summoning the armed forces to ensure law and order.
Army installations and Corps Commander’s house in Lahore came under attack during a protest by PTI workers. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi sustained severe injuries while clearing.
