Sugar price rises up to Rs150 per kg

Lahore: The sugar prices increased across the country as the sugar is being sold at Rs150 per kg in the retail markets on Sunday.

The price of sugar per kilogram in the whole sale market is Rs. 135, while the price of a 50kg sack of sugar is Rs. 6,750.

Sugar is likewise out of the consumers' grasp after the flour.

However. the sugar is also not available at the Utility Stores as the prices of the sugar at the store is being sold at the subsidised Rs90 per kg.

Earlier, flour prices in Karachi have scaled a new peak of Rs3200 per 20-kilogramme bag on Sunday.

One kilogram of flour now costs Rs320 in Karachi, more than it does in Punjab and Islamabad, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The price of 1 kg of flour in Karachi is currently Rs320, which is more than the cost of the same item in Islamabad and Punjab, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

According to the statistics, the cost of a 20kg bag of flour in Karachi increased by Rs200 last week, bringing the price to Rs3,200. The 20kg bag was now available in Hyderabad for Rs3,040, an increase of Rs140.

In addition, the cost of a 20kg bag of flour jumped in Bahawalpur, Multan, Sukkur, and Quetta by, respectively, Rs146, Rs93, Rs120, and Rs100.
