Lahore: Pakistan and India, renowned cricket rivals, are set to clash twice in the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023.

The first encounter between the two teams is expected to take place on September 2nd, with the second match scheduled for September 10th during the next round.

Both matches are likely to be held in either Colombo or Kandy, Sri Lanka, adding to the excitement surrounding the tournament.

Prior to their showdown against India, Pakistan is slated to play their first group match against Nepal on either August 30th or 31st in Multan.

The opening ceremony of the tournament will also grace Multan on the same day.

Lahore will serve as an additional venue for the Asia Cup matches in Pakistan.

Pending approval of the proposed schedule, the Pakistan team will swiftly depart for Sri Lanka after their initial match against Nepal.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will complete their group matches in Pakistan before transitioning to Sri Lanka for the remaining games.

The official announcement of the schedule is expected to be made on Wednesday, allowing fans to mark their calendars and anticipate the thrilling clashes between these cricketing powerhouses.

In another development, Salman Naseer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the PCB, has been appointed as the tournament director for the Asia Cup.
