PML-Q wants general elections on time
PML-Q chairman Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and former governor of Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar both leaders talked about issues related to the caretaker setup throughout the meeting.
Lahore: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) highlighted the significance of timely general elections on Wednesday.
The PML-Q chairman Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain received a call from the former governor of Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar. Both of the leaders talked about issues related to the caretaker setup throughout the meeting.
Shujaat hoped that after discussions among the allied parties, the interim prime minister would be selected unanimously.
The former governor of Punjab said, "It is essential that the constitutional measures are followed in order to promote the nation.
Further, Sarwar thought there should be no debate over the caretaker arrangement.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Shafay Hussain also attended the meeting.
Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have mutually agreed to dissolve National Assembly on August 08.
According to sources, law experts have also stated that the National Assembly will be dissolved on August 08.
However, the term of National Assembly will end on August 12 at 12:00 am.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will send the summary to President Dr. Arif Alvi on August 08, after which the National Assembly will be dissolved after the signature of the President.
Constitutionally, the elections are to be held within 90 days after the dissolution of assembly.
