Zardari to meet Nawaz Sharif in London
The sources say that the PPP Co-chairman will travel from Dubai to London on two-day visit.
Lahore: Pakisan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Co-chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari is likely to meet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif in London, the sources privy to the development said on Sunday.
The sources said that Asif Ali Zardari is expected to hold a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif in London. Zardari would be traveling from Dubai for a two-day visit, which could potentially be extended.
The meeting between Zardari and Nawaz Sharif is considered a continuation of their previous discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The leaders would focus on matters concerning the dissolution of assemblies, the caretaker setup, and the selection of the caretaker prime minister candidate.
Last week, Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister's House to discuss the current political situation in the country.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif recently stated that the assemblies will dissolve in August after completing their tenure, and preparations for the elections have already begun. He highlighted that the PDM-led government had the option to dissolve the assemblies earlier, but doing so would have exacerbated the economic crisis, leading to a potential default for Pakistan 14 months ago.
