Punjab to receive stormy rain till August 01

Department of Meteorology stated that there is possibility of rain with thunder in most areas of Punjab today.

Lahore: With torrential rains continuing in various districts of Punjab till August 1, urban flooding have also been predicted.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) spokesperson, the water level in the rivers is continuously increasing due to torrential rains.

There is a low-level flood in the Ravi river at Baloki and Sidhnai, while 32,000 cusecs from Shahdara. The water rail is passing but the water flow is normal at Shahdara.

Spokesperson of PDMA said that there is a moderate level of flooding in the Indus River at Taunsa and Guddu. There are also uncertainties of urban flooding in various cities due to torrential rains.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility of rain in most areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the next 24 hours.

According to the Department of Meteorology, Islamabad is expected to remain cloudy today, however, heavy winds and thundershowers are expected at a few places in the federal capital.

Department of Meteorology stated that there is possibility of rain with thunder in most areas of Punjab today.

Met Department added that there is a risk of flooding in the local rain-fed rivers of Dera Ghazi Khan, while thundershowers are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur.

Apart from this, rain with strong winds in Kohistan, Malakand, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi and Nowshera are also expected.

The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain with thunder in the areas of Kohlu, Zhob, Shirani, Musa Khel, Qila Saifullah and Barkhan.

While rain is expected also in Kalat, Khuzdar, Awaran, Sibi, Harnai, Bolan, Loralai, Naseerabad and Dera Bugti. Due to heavy rain, there is a risk of flooding in local rivers.

The weather will remain hot and humid in most of the districts of Sindh province, but Sukkur, Jacobabad and Larkana are likely to experience strong winds and thundershowers.
