ECP ban on appointments, transfers on federal level
All kinds of appointments and transfers should be suspended until the formation of a caretaker setup.
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) imposed a ban on all appointments and transfers at the federal level, according to a letter sent to secretary of the Establishment Division on Thursday.
According to the letter, the National Assembly (NA) and federal cabinet were dissolved, which led to the imposition of the ban.
It advised postponing all appointments and transfers up till the implementation of a caretaker system.
The letter also stated that it had come to the election commission’s knowledge that there were plans for appointments and transfers in ministries and divisions.
The committee was forbidden from taking any such action until the interim government was established.
The letter stated that after the caretaker government is established, transfers and appointments may be made in accordance with the law.
