Muslim community lauds Eric Adams administration for making official announcement as Azan [call to prayer] will be allowed each Friday and during sunset prayers of Holy Month of Ramadan.


New York: For the first time in the American history, Azan [call to prayer] is now officially allowed in New York, the latest reports say.
City Mayor Eric Adams made the announcement about Azan on every Friday and at the sunset in every holy month of Ramada. The scholars and clerics were also present there at the time of the official announcement at the City Hall building.
“Volume will be kept to a reasonable level and it can be played between 12: 3 pm and 1: 30 pm each Friday and during sunset prayers of the holy month of Ramadan,” said Mr. Eric. He thanked the commissioner and his entire team for their role and services.
The scholars and the people who were working with the New York also shed light over the historic announcement regarding Azan in the city. A moazzain [caller to the prayer] also offered Azan which touched the hearts of the people present there, especially the Muslims.

The Muslims are quite excited and they termed it historic decision, saying that Azan would be possible now every Friday in every single mosque.
“For me it’s a really dream comes true. And it is not just for us but also for our children who are growing up here,” said a Muslim in reaction to the official announcement.
“The young children who had been having hard time with their faith and religion everweek gonna get the reminder from Allah Subhanho wa Ta’ala that tells them to be a real proud Muslim and to hold on to your faith, and have patience,” he added.
Another faithful said, “What a amazing day! What is the historic moment for the mayor to announce that Azan be said in every mosque of New York city,”.

He stated that, “This is something that the community has been asking for a long time,”.
The Muslims expressed special gratitude for New York City Mayor Erid Adams for officially allowing Azan in every mosque of the city. Another local Muslim was of the view that the people from the Muslim community attended the official announcement and came know about their rights, especially about practicing their religion as there would be no restriction.
