Islamabad-bound flight taken back to Doha due to emergency

Following the instructions of the air traffic controller, the pilot diverted the plane back to Doha Airport.

Islamabad: Due to an emergency in the flight from Qatar to Islamabad, the plane was taken back to Doha.

According to aviation officials, the scheduled flight QR 614 of Qatar Airways took off from Doha International Airport to Islamabad at 3:04pm local time.

It is reported that the flight was supposed to reach Islamabad at 8:00am, however 11 minutes after departure, the flight was at an altitude of 15,000 feet when the pilot identified a technical fault in the Airbus A330.

Following the instructions of the air traffic controller, the pilot diverted the plane back to Doha Airport.

22 minutes after departure, the plane was circling the sea near Al-Warka when the flight radar received an emergency signal from the plane and 34 minutes after takeoff, the plane landed back at Doha International Airport in Qatar.

According to aviation authorities, the passengers were offloaded from the aircraft and are awaiting departure for Islamabad again.
