Islamabad: The Taliban have declared a countrywide cease-fire in Afghanistan on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.

According to details, the ceasefire will begin on Thursday, marking the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan.
The announcement regarding ceasefire emerged following the deadly Kabul attack following multiple blasts outside a girls’ school in Kabul leaving 60 dead, including mostly students.
The Taliban said Sunday its leadership has instructed all insurgent fighters “to halt all offensive operations against the enemy” across the country to enable Afghans to celebrate the festivities in a “peaceful and secure atmosphere.”
Even in past the Taliban have announced cease-fires but resumed fighting immediately after the festivities.
