Rabi-ul-Awwal moon sighted, Eid Milad-un-Nabi on Sept 29

Islamabad: Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Abdul Khabeer Azad has announced that the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon was sighted on Saturday.

The Islamic month will commence from Sunday, September 17, and Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) would fall on September 29 (Friday).

Details indicate that the statement made after a committee meeting with Maulana Azad presiding.

In addition to this, zonal committee meetings were also held in each of the nation's major cities.

The meeting was attended by weather experts as well as religious intellectuals from all philosophical traditions.

Maulana Azad announced the sighting of the moon after receiving multiple testimonies from across the country.

The birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), also known as Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), is celebrated by Muslims worldwide on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
