Resident Evil Village’s iPhone port might launch a day before Halloween
Capcom lists an October 30th release date for Resident Evil Village for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPad on its US site.
Capcom says preorders for both games will hit the Apple App Store âsoon.â The company adds that if you order Village and Wintersâ Expansion during a launch window that the company will announce later, youâll get an extra costume for Rosemary Winters in the Shadows of Rose DLC.
Notably, while Village doesnât offer Appleâs Universal Purchase, Capcomâs site says Resident Evil 4 will, meaning when you buy the app for one Apple platform, you can download and play it on others.
Capcom shared some screenshots from both games running in iOS or iPadOS:

In a peek at Village running on the iPhone 15 Pro last week, the game appeared to legitimately run on par with what youâd expect from high-end dedicated portable gaming hardware like the Steam Deck. To reiterate: youâll need a 2021 or later iPad Pro, 2022 iPad Air, or an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max to run Village, so youâll need to upgrade to Appleâs titanium-edged phone if you want to see the scary, tall vampire lady running natively on your iPhone.
Capcomâs latest entry in its ongoing series of survival horror games was a big part of Appleâs iPhone 15 event, along with the Resident Evil 4 remake, Death Stranding, Assassinâs Creed Mirage, and The Division Resurgence. Apple used the games to show off the capability of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max phonesâ new 6-core GPU.
