According to the petition filed, 15.47 billion units of electricity were supplied to the DISCOs in August.


Islamabad: An appeal to increase the cost of electricity by Rs1.83 per unit through fuel price adjustment has been submitted to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
According to details, NEPRA will today (Wednesday) hear the Central Power Purchasing Agency’s (CPPA) fuel adjustment request for August.
According to the petition filed by CPPA, 15.47 billion units of electricity were supplied to the Districution Companies (DISCOs) in August.
If the application is approved, the burden on power consumers will be more than 33 billion rupees.
It is pertinent to note that the increase in electricity price will not be applicable to K-Electric customers.
