Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) have released a statement addressing the matter of fuel supply to the national carrier.

This development sheds light on the intricate issue of payments and the critical role that fuel plays in the airline's operations.

According to a PSO spokesperson, the supply of fuel to PIA has not been halted.

In fact, as of Friday night, a total of 64 flights have received fuel supplies from PSO.

This information provides a glimpse into the continuous efforts to maintain PIA's flight operations amidst its financial constraints.

On the evening of Friday, PIA reportedly made a payment to PSO, ensuring that the fuel supply would continue.

The details of this payment, including the amount, were not specified in the statement.

It signifies a crucial step in addressing the financial obligations between PIA and PSO.

The statement also emphasizes that PIA had provided a list of 39 flights for which fuel supply was requested.

In response, PSO is allocating fuel based on the priority flight list furnished by PIA.

This approach ensures that flights deemed most essential or time-sensitive receive the necessary fuel to continue their operations.

Despite this significant development in ensuring fuel supply, there remains pending a payout limit for PIA on Saturday and Sunday.
