First teaser of 'Salahuddin Ayyubi' released
Sultan Salahuddin was a leader who established the Ayyubid Empire and achieved a victory over the Crusaders, reclaiming Jerusalem after nearly a century of their occupation in the year 1187.


Istanbul: In a collaborative effort between private production houses from Turkey and Pakistan, the first teaser of the historical drama "Salahuddin Ayyubi" has been unveiled, offering a sneak peek into the highly anticipated series.
The teaser was shared on social media by Turkish actor Uğur Güneş, who portrays the role of Salahuddin Ayubi, and Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui, one of the drama's producers.
The brief clip provides an enticing glimpse of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, observed from a distance by the drama's actors.
The project, which combines the talents of Pakistani and Turkish actors, was officially announced in August 2021, generating significant excitement among viewers.
In January 2022, auditions were held in Lahore, with approximately 6,000 participants vying for roles in the upcoming historical drama.
A select group of actors were chosen from this extensive pool of talent.
Preparations for the series included the construction of a dedicated set in Turkey, a significant milestone in the production process.
The core cast of the drama comprises notable actors such as Ayesha Umar, Ushna Shah, Farhan Ali Agha, and Adnan Jilani, who were selected from the shortlisted candidates.
While the release of the teaser has undoubtedly excited fans, the precise airing details for this highly anticipated drama remain undisclosed.
The historical drama promises to bring to life the remarkable achievements of Sultan Saladin, the founder of the Ayyubid Empire, who played a pivotal role in defeating the Crusaders and reclaiming Bayt al-Maqdis, the first Qibla of Muslims, after nearly nine decades in 1187.
