Lahore: Saim Ayub, geared up for the upcoming three-match Test tour of Australia as part of the 18-member squad, is determined to showcase a fearless style of cricket across all formats for Pakistan.
In a recent media interaction in Rawalpindi, Saim delved into his batting strategy, particularly for the longest format of the game. He stressed the team's commitment to adopting a fearless approach while clarifying that it doesn't translate to blindly slogging. Saim highlighted the importance of giving due respect to quality bowlers.
Looking ahead, Saim envisions becoming a specialist player across all three formats. He expressed his desire to transcend being labeled as a specialist in any specific format, aspiring to evolve into a cricket specialist capable of adapting his game to the unique demands of different formats.
“I don't want to be considered as a specialist of a particular format. I want to become a cricket specialist, which includes all three formats. I always try to adjust my game according to different formats,” he said.
He said, “We will play with a fearless approach in Australia. However, a fearless approach doesn't mean to slog blindly. Good bowlers should be given respect,”.
