Lahore: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Monday acquitted Ahad Cheema, Advisor to the Caretaker Prime Minister in the reference of assets in excess of income.

According to the details, the report submitted by NAB on Ahad Cheema's plea for acquittal in the assets in excess of income reference has been released.

It has been stated in the report that there is no case of NAB reference of assets in excess of income against Ahad Cheema as all of his assets are in line with income. The alleged Benamidars of Ahad Cheema built properties with their personal income and cannot be linked to Cheema.

In the report, NAB took a stand that the accounts of Ahad Cheema's relatives Sadia Mansoor, Mansoor Ahmed and Nazia Ashraf are not Benami accounts of Special Assistant to Prime Minister.

According to the reinvestigation, the total income of the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister is Rs213 million and expenses are Rs131 million.

NAB stated that the assets created by Ahad are in accordance with his income. During the re-investigation, he provided the records related to his income and profits to NAB which was confirmed and it turned out to be right.

NAB requested the accountability court to decide according to the law on the plea of acquittal of Ahad Cheema.
