Israeli PM defies call by US President for ‘significant de-escalation in Gaza’

According to details, Israel continued its bombardment on Gaza Strip on Thursday, with Benjamin Netanyahu defying the United States’ call to seek a de-escalation on the path to a ceasefire.

Speaking after the phone call with Biden, Israeli PM said that he was “determined” to continue bombarding Palestine until Israel’s aim is met.

Diplomatic efforts for a truce between Israel and Gaza’s Hamas government, meanwhile, remain stalled.

Meanwhile, Israel continued to attack the Gaza Strip with airstrikes and number of loud explosions rattled the Palestinian territory, with bright orange flashes lighting up the pre-dawn sky.

The latest escalation of tensions between Israel and Hamas, which governs Gaza, has now entered its second week. At least 227 Palestinians have been killed including 64 children and 38 women.

On the other hand Israel has reported 12 deaths as a result of retaliatory shelling by Hamas.

Israeli police, in its latest act of violence, stormed the compound of Al-Aqsa Mosque, firing rubber-coated steel rounds, stun grenades and tear gas at Palestinian worshippers inside the mosque in the final days of the holy month of Ramadan.
