Sui Southern has demanded an increase in gas price by Rs226 per MMBtu from July 1.


Islamabad: After Sui Northern, Sui Southern also demanded increase in gas price, reportedly.
According to media reports, Sui Southern has demanded an increase in gas price by Rs226 per MMBtu from July 1.
According to Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Sui Southern has submitted a request for increase in gas, which has been given in view of the revenue requirements of the current financial year.
It is also reported that Sui Southern is estimated to have a revenue shortfall of Rs47.77 billion for the current financial year. In Balochistan, the revenue shortfall is estimated to be Rs95.40 per MMBtu.
While, Rs150.67 per MMBtu has been demanded in terms of transmission and distribution cost.
According to OGRA, Sui Southern's appeal will be heard in Karachi on December 18. The current average gas price is Rs1470.21 paise per MMBtu, while the company has requested a new average price of Rs1696.39.
