Lahore: The Lahore Police released data related to serious incidents like murder and robbery during the last six months.
According to the data released by Lahore Police, during the last six months, a decline of 32% in the incidents of murder and other serious crimes, while a 20 percent decrease in the incidents of car and motorcycle theft has been recorded.
The police stated in the report that the main reason for the reduced crime rate is the timely calls made on 15. The serious incidents like murder and attempted murder decreased by 32 percent while incidents of car theft declined by 20 percent and carjacking saw decline by 19 percent.
According to the data, incidents like murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and rape have also decreased by 17%.
Police data showed that cases of robbery and street crimes fell by 16 percent compared to November. While six months ago, 130 to 160 cases of motorcycle theft were registered daily, which has now reduced to 30 to 50.
In this regard, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamiana said that the investigation of serious cases like robbery, banditry, kidnapping for ransom, murder and attempted murder has been speeded up. The effective checking and police patrolling is also the reason for controlling crimes.
He added that from 2018 to 2023, more than 400 thousand pending cases have also been disposed of.
