Eelctions; ECP extend date to submit nomination papers by two days
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held from December 25 to 30 and election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on January 13.
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) friday extended the date for submission of nomination papers for the general elections to be held on February 8, 2024 by two days.
According to the Election Commission announcement, candidates can now submit their nomination papers till December 24.
The declaration said that the political parties can also give the priority list of specific seats by December 24.
The announcement of the Election Commission added that the scrutiny of nomination papers will be held from December 24 to 30 and election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on January 13.
The polling process for the general elections will be held on February 8.
It is pertinent to note that Mutahidda Qoumi Movement (MQM), Jamat-e-Ulema Islami (JUI), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) had requested the ECP to extend the submission period of nomination papers by two days.
