Sialkot: The mother of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar, named Rehana Imtiaz Dar, will be opposed to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif which is her son's eternal opponent in the NA-71 Sialkot-2 after her nomination papers were approved by the election tribunal on Tuesday.

After the consent of Rehana’s nomination papers, she will be competing for a seat in the National Assembly in the nationwide polls, arranged to be held on February 8.

At first, Rehana’s paper got discard by the returning officer (RO) as a result of seizing 40-marla land by fabrication. Therefore, the election tribunal perceived her request against the annulled RO’s decision.

It is pertinent to note that Usman Dar said that the police wanted to arrest him in the May 9 case but he was not found guilty, still they mistreated his family. Dar made an allegation on Khawaja Muhammad Asif for all the activity.

Dar’s mother stated that when their rivals got to know that she was submitting her papers for the general elections 2024, 20 people came to her house to haul me. ‘No one can force me into submitting to do what they want. I will even submit my papers for the polls if I would be in jail’.
