ECP takes notice for violation of code of conduct

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took notice of the violation of the code of conduct during general elections campaign and summoned various candidates for fines and violations.

According to the spokesperson of the Election Commission, it has taken notice of the violations of the code of conduct in the general elections 2024, while the various candidates have been summoned for fines and violations.

District Monitoring Officer (DRO) Kohat took action for violating the code of conduct and imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on Noor Aslam Afridi, an independent candidate of NA-35, and Rs10,000 on Fawadullah Khan Afridi, an independent candidate of NA-35.

Apart from this, Awami National Party (ANP) candidate of PK-90 Yaqoob Khan was fined Rs5000 while independent candidate of PK-90 Junaidullah Afridi was fined Rs10,000.

According to the spokesperson of the Election Commission, the monitoring teams in different districts also removed the prohibited advertising hoardings and materials.
