Written decision of Tosha Khana case issued
The court announced its verdicts that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were found guilty of causing damage to the national exchequer.
Islamabad: The Accountability Court of Islamabad Friday issued a written verdict against the former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Tosha Khana gifts case.
According to the details, Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir issued the written decision, which consists of 23 pages.
The written verdict said that the prosecution was successful in proving its case. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 14 years in prison, with time spent in jail to be considered as part of the sentence.
The court announced its verdicts that former Chairman PTI Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi obtained financial benefits of Rs1573.72 million by misusing the Prime Minister's Office, both of them were found guilty of causing damage to the national exchequer.
The judgment further stated that public property was obtained through fraud and the value of the set was much higher than the private valuation.
It is pertinent to note that a few days ago, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment each with hard labour in the Tosha Khana case.
Judge Muhammad Bashir of Accountability Court in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail also disqualified the former Chairman PTI for 10 years.
Collectively, a fine of Rs1.5740 billion was imposed on Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi by the court and individually the fine of Rs787 million was imposed.
