Procurement of vaccine has reached nearly quarter of a billion dollars: Asad Umar
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar has said that the acceleration of vaccination drive in the country being made possible following the huge investment by federal govt.
Taking to twitter, Asad Umar who also heads National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) shared that the procurement of vaccine has reached nearly quarter of a billion dollars so far.
“Much more to be spent next year for the vaccines procurement,” he added.
Pakistan’s vaccination drive is underway with full pace across all provinces. The country has opened vaccination fro 18 above from today, while walk-ins are allowed for citizens above 30 at all centers.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,028 cases of coronavirus were reported while 80 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 21,022.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 926,695.
As many as 852,574 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,630 critical cases
