Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Monday approved funds to add 630 more public buses to the transport system of urban areas.
A meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Finance and Development was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in which Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Senator Pervez Rasheed, Chief Secretary, Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Chairman P&D, Secretary Finance, Local Government, Information and other authorities participated.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister Punjab was briefed on various development projects.
The Standing Committee on Finance of the Provincial Cabinet has approved the funds for the upgradation of Government Pilot Boys High School, Wahdat Road. In the meeting, 150 e-bikes were also approved for the lady police officers of the police department.
In the meeting, funds were approved to add 630 more public buses to the transport system of Punjab's urban areas. Under the project, new buses will be provided in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur.
The Standing Committee on Finance also approved the special allowance for 332 under-officers of the Anti-Terrorism Department and the creation of a Water and Sanitation Services Company in Sahiwal, while also approving the proposals to include 34 billion development schemes in the Lahore Development Plan.
During the meeting, in-principle approval was also given to upgrade Govt. Syed Muhammad Hussain TB Hospital Samli as a general hospital. Maryam Nawaz was briefed on the establishment of field hospitals at different places in Murree. Punjab Chief Minister ordered immediate release of all funds for up-gradation of Tertiary Care Hospitals.
