Maryam orders to activate damaged filtration plants across Punjab
Maryam Nawaz directed the concerned authorities to use all resources to provide clean water to the citizens
Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Tuesday ordered to activate inactive and damaged water filtration plants across the province.
A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz regarding Water and Pak Authority in which Senator Pervez Rasheed, Provincial Ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb, Zeeshan Rafique, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, Chief Secretary Punjab, Chief Executive Officer of Water and Pak Authority Zahid Aziz and others participated.
In the meeting, a report was presented on the status of 5,027 water filtration plants across Punjab. Chief Minister Punjab directed to install new filtration plants on priority basis in brackish water areas.
Maryam Nawaz called for a comprehensive plan for the supply of clean drinking water in every area and ordered the immediate activation of inactive and damaged water filtration plants across the province.
In the meeting, it was also decided in principle to entrust the management of all filtration plants to a single authority.
