T20 WC: West Indies beat US by nine wicket
In the 46th match of the T20 World Cup, the West Indies team won the toss and decided to field first
Bridgetown: In the Super-VIII stage match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's T20 World Cup, West Indies defeated US by nine wickets.
Batting first in the match being played in Bridgetown, Barbados, the American team scored 128 runs and was all out in the last over of the innings.
In the 46th match of the T20 World Cup, the West Indies team won the toss and decided to field first.
First innings
Batting first, American batsman Andres Ghoss scored 29 runs off 16 balls with the help of one six and three fours. Nitish Kumar 20, Milind Kumar 19, and Shedley van Schockwick scored 18 runs.
West Indian bowler Ruston Chase got three wickets for 19 runs in four overs while Andre Russell also managed to get three wickets for 31 runs in 3.5 overs while Alzari Joseph got two wickets and Gadakish Moti got one wicket.
Second innings
West Indies batting continues in pursuit of USA's target of 129 runs.
Teams West Indies and USA in Group-II of the Super-VIII stage are competing at the Kensington Oval Cricket Stadium in Bridgetown, Barbados.
It is pertinent to note that West Indies and US teams have played one match each in the Super-VIII stage so far and both the teams had to face defeat in their first match of this stage.
Notably, the South African team, included in Group-II of the Super-VIII stage, has played two matches and won both of them, while the England team has played two matches and won one.
Teams from Australia, India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are included in Group-I of Super-VIII stage of T20 World Cup.
