Interior Minister directs Islamabad police to ensure ban on kite flying

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday directed Islamabad police to ensure strict implementation of the ban on kite flying.
Mohsin Naqvi took serious notice of the death of a seven year old girl from a kite string in the area under the jurisdiction of Islamabad's Khanna Police station and sought report from Inspector General Islamabad Police. He directed strict action against the culprits.
The Interior Minister said indiscriminate action must be taken against those violating the ban on kite flying.
Consequently, Islamabad Police, conducted a crackdown on kite flyers in the areas adjacent to Rawalpindi in which 23 people were arrested during 39 raids.
