Lahore:  President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday announced that income tax would be enforced on large agriculturalists.

While addressing a seminar organized by the Professor Waris Mir Foundation at Al-Hamra Hall in Lahore, President Zardari stated, “The income tax will be imposed on big agriculturists." The event was attended by PPP leaders, senior journalists, and individuals from various walks of life.

President Zardari emphasized that a country's needs extend beyond economic policy, highlighting the importance of agro-farming and agro-industries as the future of the nation.

Reflecting on the legacy of Professor Waris Mir, Zardari mentioned the various trials one faces in life. He also discussed the impact of social media, noting that while it allows for easy expression of opinions, it also fosters groupings.

“No one has been criticized as much as I have. I support the freedom of the press but not self-censorship. Today is also the birth anniversary of Miss Fatima Jinnah, and it is important to acknowledge her as well,” said President Zardari.

He also revealed that he does not watch TV. "People ask why I don't watch TV, and I say that every channel is criticizing me. We believe that everyone must leave this world at their appointed time," he concluded.
