Washington: The United States has expressed concern over the Pakistan government's decision to ban political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller said in a press briefing that he had seen the government's statement regarding banning the political party.

He stated that banning a political party is a matter of concern as this move is against human rights, freedom of expression, and peaceful observance of constitutional and democratic principles.

Matthew Miller added: “We condemn political violence in any country, including Pakistan. America is against human rights violations. We want to see respect for democratic values ​​and fundamental rights and support the rule of law in Pakistan”.
