Training camp starts in Islamabad for Pakistan Street Child Football team
Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan says the government will establish sports endowment fund for youth to enable them realize their potential and Prime Minister accorded approval to it
Islamabad: A five-day training camp started in Islamabad on Sunday for Pakistan Street Child Football team which was visiting Norway for the world cup.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the training camp in Islamabad, Chairman Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said their street child football team which remained runner up in the Street child Football World Cup last time would return champions this time.
He said the camp was jointly organized by Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination and the Prime Minister's Youth Program and would help field a tuned-up team for the world cup.
He said the government would establish sports endowment fund for youth to enable them realize their potential and Prime Minister accorded approval to it.
The Chairman also informed that ten sports academies for basic sports like cricket, hockey, and football would be established across the country this year as per vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He said a state of the art biomechanical lab would also be established to provide students with physical nurturing and world class fitness facilities.
Rana Mashhood said there was no lack of talent in the country but the need was only to support and sponsor it.
