PTI terminates basic membership of Marwat

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) terminated the basic membership of party leader and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Sher Afzal Marwat.

In a statement signed by PTI Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi, it is said that Sher Afzal was on notice period.

According to the statement, during the notice period, the Disciplinary Committee felt that Sher Afzal Marwat had no regard for the party rules. He considered himself above the party rules.

In the declaration of PTI, it has been said that if Sher Afzal Marwat is an honorable person, then he should also resign from the membership of the National Assembly.

It is pertinent to note that the party had issued a show cause notice to Sher in the month of July after making controversial statements. After which, he responded to the show cause notice, however, the party termed his response as unsatisfactory.

In the notice issued to Sher Afzal Marwat, it was said that he had failed to give a satisfactory answer to any of the allegations. His statements against the party leaders cannot be ignored.

Later, the PTI founder Imran Khan directed the party leadership to suspend the party membership of Sher Afzal Marwat while giving the authority to act against those who violate the party policy.
