These matches will be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday that the Bangladesh men’s cricket team will arrive in Pakistan earlier than initially planned to prepare for their two ICC World Test Championship matches.
These matches will be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi, scheduled from August 21-25 and August 30-September 3, respectively.
Originally set to land in Islamabad on August 17, the Bangladesh team will now arrive in Lahore on the morning of August 13. They will train at Gaddafi Stadium from August 14-16 before heading to Islamabad on August 17 to hold practice sessions at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 18-20.
The PCB extended an invitation to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to allow the team extra time to train ahead of the Test matches, ensuring they have ample preparation for the ICC World Test Championship.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer stated, “Sports is about more than just winning and losing; it’s about camaraderie. I’m confident that the additional training sessions in Lahore will help the players perform at their best on the global stage.”
“We are pleased that the BCB accepted our offer, and we look forward to welcoming the Bangladesh team to Lahore on August 13 with our traditional hospitality. This extra training time at one of our iconic venues will benefit them before they proceed to Islamabad as originally planned,” he added.
BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury expressed gratitude to the PCB, saying, “We appreciate the PCB for offering Bangladesh extra training time in Pakistan. This will help our players acclimate to the conditions and prepare more effectively for the ICC World Test Championship series.”
This tour marks Bangladesh’s first visit to Pakistan since 2020, when they played three T20Is in Lahore and a one-off Test in Rawalpindi. Bangladesh also played two ACC Asia Cup 2023 matches in Lahore against Afghanistan and Pakistan. They are one of the seven teams that will compete in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, alongside Afghanistan, Australia, England, India, New Zealand, and South Africa.
The PCB will release further details regarding Bangladesh’s training, practice sessions, and media opportunities in due course.
