Video conferencing feature likely to be launched in X
Users will be able to instantly start or schedule new video meetings on X like other video conferencing services
California: The video calling feature was introduced in X (Twitter) some time ago.
Now owned by Elon Musk, the social media platform wants to take on services like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams with a video conferencing tool.
According to Chris Park, an X official, the video conferencing tool was tested during an internal company conference in the past few days.
In an X post, Chris Park stated that the initial response to the video conferencing tool from those working for the company has been quite positive and that X will be working on various features for video conferencing.
X owner Elon Musk reacted to Chris Park's post with a fire emoji, which could be considered a formal confirmation of the new feature.
According to a report, users will be able to instantly start or schedule new video meetings on X like other video conferencing services.
Under this feature, the hosts will be able to set a unique code for each video meeting, with the help of which other people can be a part of the video conference.
It is not yet clear when X may introduce this feature to users and it is not possible to say whether it will be available to all users or only those who pay a monthly fee will be able to use it.
It is pertinent to note that most new features from X are now limited to those who are part of subscription programs.
