PTA issues guidelines to protect its consumers
Authority provided several methods for consumers to check the status of mobile phones
Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued guidelines and information to safeguard buyers from illegal transactions and to prevent financial loss.
To aid in this process, the PTA has provided several methods for consumers to check the status of mobile phones.
SMS verification:
Consumers can easily verify the status of a mobile phone by sending an SMS. To do this, write the 15-digit IMEI number of the device and send it to 8484. The PTA will then respond with the status of the phone.
Online verification:
The PTA also offers an online verification service. By visiting the official PTA website at https://dvs.pta.gov.pk/, users can enter the IMEI number to check the status of their device.
Mobile App verification:
For those who prefer using mobile applications, the PTA provides an app called DVS (Device Verification System). This app allows users to verify the status of their mobile phones conveniently from their Android devices.
These verification methods are crucial in ensuring that the mobile phone you are purchasing is legitimate and not involved in any illegal activities. The PTA’s initiative aims to protect consumers and maintain the integrity of the mobile market in Pakistan.
For further details and updates, consumers are encouraged to visit the PTA’s official website or contact their helpline. Ensuring proper verification before making a purchase can save buyers from potential scams and ensure a secure transaction.
