No-confidence motion against Canadian PM Trudeau failed
120 votes were cast in support of motion of no-confidence while 211 were against
Ottawa: A no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by opposition parties in Canada has failed.
The motion of no confidence was tabled in the House of Commons by the opposition Conservative Party of Canada.
120 votes were cast in support of the motion of no-confidence while 211 were against and thus the motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Trudeau and his government failed.
Even after the failure of the no-confidence motion, the Canadian prime minister's woes have not eased much as his government faces rising inflation and challenges in the housing sector.
It is pertinent to note that at the beginning of this month, the main coalition party of the Trudeau government, the New Democratic Party, announced its separation from the government coalition, after which the problems of the Trudeau government increased.
However, despite this situation, members belonging to Justin Trudeau's party are confident that there will be no elections in the country before 2025.
