Toshakhana II case: Imran, Bushra bail appeal rejected, to be indicted

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi's bail application in the Tosha Khana II case has been rejected on Monday and they will be charged on October 2.

According to the details, Adiala Jail Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand heard the bail application of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.

Prosecutor Zulfikar Abbas Naqvi appeared with his team on behalf of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Barrister Salman Safdar advocated appeared on behalf of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.

Prosecution said that founder PTI got a valuable jewelry gift worth Rs70 million from Saudi Arabia for Rs2.9 million. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has obtained the actual price of the Bulgari set from Saudi through the Foreign Office. The set includes earrings, bracelets and rings. As Prime Minister, Imran Khan fixed the market price of the expensive set at Rs5.8 million. And the PTI founder kept the state gift with him without depositing it in the Toshakhana.

The prosecution stated that Imran Khan fixed the price of Bulgari set through his office secretary Inam Shah. He and the appraiser of Toshahkhana have confirmed this process. The case against founder PTI and Bushra Bibi is proven, therefore, the bail application should be dismissed.

Defense lawyer Salman Safdar said that the case of Toshakhana II is similar to the first reference. The allegations are the same as in the first reference. The witnesses and the accused are the same in both cases. This case should end after the Supreme Court's NAB amendment restoration decision. First, the case was transferred from NAB to Special Judge Central, but founder PTI and Bushra Bibi did not get bail. The court is requested court to grant bail.

Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand reserved the verdict after hearing the detailed arguments of both parties and later rejected the bail plea of ​​founder PTI and Bushra Bibi.

PTI founder and Bushra Bibi will be charged on October 2.
